BURNS Solution

BURNS Solution & example

You touch the iron, you get steam in your face when you take the lid off a saucepan, and you splash some grease on yourself when cooking breakfast. It is easy to burn yourself occasionally.

  • Stop the burning process- flush the burn with lots of colds water.
  • Cold water and lots of it, not ice, should be applied, by pouring water over the burned area.
  • Prompt cooling can halt the progression of any burn and can prevent damage to the deeper layer of the skin.
  • First degree: skin is reddened.
  • Second degree: skin is reddened with blistering.
  • Third degree: Entire thickness of the skin and the underlying muscles has been destroyed.
  • Third degree burns need immediate professional attention.
  • Second and third degree burns can be treated, after cooling, by applying honey under a dry dressing. It is a cleansing and healing agent.
  • Do not apply butter or ointment and do not break the blisters, as those bubbles of raised skin are nature’s own best damage.
  • Aloe Vera is excellent after healing has begun. Vitamin E applied when healing has begun may prevent scarring.
